Profile

Tino Diaz is the Managing Director & CEO of CharisPROS and its subsidiary mortgage operations which specialize in the Hispanic market. Since 1974, Mr. Diaz’ entrepreneurial career has been in the financial services industry and his experience is wide-ranging. He has worked with community and multinational banks as well as thrifts and insurance companies. He has provided leadership in corporate turnarounds and founding various financial services businesses and institutions.

As a staunch advocate for sustainable homeownership Diaz works tirelessly to advance that cause. For the past twelve years he has lead a mortgage team specializing in the growing Hispanic market. His team systematically brings culturally sensitive, bilingual Spanish language loan structuring and underwriting practices and technologies to the wholesale mortgage banking business. His team excels at structuring residential mortgage deals that advance sustainable homeownership and minimize the overall costs to the end consumer and has attained a reputation for impeccable quality and loan performance in the secondary mortgage market.

Diaz has also worked tirelessly within NAHREP to advance its mission since he joined in 2003. He speaks at NAHREP forums on the significance of homeownership to Hispanics and the indispensable need for ethical behavior. As Chairman of NAHREP’s Organizational Development Committee he led the development of the NAHREP Code of Trust “En Confianza” in 2007 and is now working to roll out the Code of Trust certification. He oversees the subcommittees on Chapter in a Box, Regional Leadership Teams, and Leadership Development & Organizational Strategy. He was elected Vice Chairman of NAHREP on March, 2008 and will become Chairman in March 2009.

Throughout his career Diaz has also served in an advisory capacity and coach to executive management and boards of directors of banking institutions, insurance companies and other financial services intermediaries and trade associations. He is a highly sought after speaker for his insightful innovative approaches and motivating style and regularly speaks on strategic issues related to homeownership and the financial services industry.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Illinois, which presented him with the Distinguished Alumni Award in the field of marketing management. He also has a Master of Science in Strategic Management from Purdue University.
