NAC Blog: Dance it off, watch some videos and fill out a survey

Celebrating NAHREP familia, cultura, politics, and grassroots action

Que onda mi gente?!

Reporting from California, this is week 4 of quarantine! I know this week has been particularly tough, anxiety has gotten the best of many of us, and the virus is continuously getting closer and closer to our social circles. This is why I propose that we make this weekend one to remember. Go out of your way to get out of your pjs and put on your Sunday best. Make the dishes that most remind you of home and familia. Step outside, breathe some fresh air, and go back inside and have a dance party. We’re Latinos, we need dancing in our lives, “Por que si no, nos entumimos.” Am I right?

A few announcements from NAHREP:

State of Hispanic Homeownership Report Release and Panel Session

If you haven’t already seen it, make sure you tune in to our panel discussion where we released our 2019 State of Hispanic Homeownership Report this week and discussed the impacts that the Hispanic segment will have on the post-pandemic economic recovery. Tune in to find out how Latinos fared in 2019 in respects to homeownership and find out if your market made it to the top 5 markets that produced the most Hispanic homeowners.

Breaking Down Forbearance Options for Latino Families During COVID-19

We have witnessed the confusion that is out in the market regarding forbearance options under the CARES Act. 2016 NAHREP National President Joe Nery and I sat down and recorded a video to dispel some of those myths and to offer some tips for families that are struggling to make their mortgage during the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that many families will need forbearance assistance to get through these tough times, and oftentimes you will be the person they turn to for questions. Equip yourself with the best information so that you can be a valuable resource to your clients.

In an effort to provide the best education possible to our members and to respond from an advocacy standpoint to the issues you’re seeing out in the market as a result of COVID-19, please fill out this survey. We need all of you to participate. Please share widely with our NAHREP familia.

That’s all folks. Like always, please reach out to me with questions about the SHHR report or about forbearance options. We are here for you.

And don’t forget, let your hair down y a bailar this weekend.

Un abrazo.
