The Hispanic Wealth Project: Wealth Building Strategies Symposium

Must purchase ticket to attend. Last year's State of Hispanic Wealth Report highlighted that Latinos increased their wealth by 63.6 percent between 2016-2019, the highest wealth increase of all demographics. While Latinos have been driving homeownership and entrepreneurial growth throughout the country, Latinos remain less diversified today than they were prior to the Great Recession. The HWP Symposium series will leverage the findings of the SHWR and offer strategies for building, growing and diversifying our wealth, meeting each of us where we are.
  • MC | Sara Rodriguez, 2021 NAHREP President, Titan Title LLC

Report Findings
NAHREP's EVP of Public Policy and Industry Relations Noerena Limón will highlight the findings of the latest State of Hispanic Wealth Report. The 2021 Wealth Report benchmarks how Latinos are faring when it comes to wealth creation. The report analyzes wealth building activities and nuances ranging from real estate acquisition and entrepreneurial growth, along with savings and the diversification of wealth through stock-based financial assets.
  • Moderator | Noerena Limón, EVP, Public Policy & Industry Relations, NAHREP

Breaking Through the Stock Market, How the Rich Get Richer Brought To You By Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices
Latinos invest in the stock market at lower rates than any other demographic. In fact, despite the tax advantages of investing in a retirement account, Latinos have the lowest retirement account participation rate in the country, which continues to trend down. At the same time, the wealthiest Americans have made more money through the stock market than in other way and understand the power of diversification. Learn how Latinos can break through the fears and unknowns of stock market investing.
  • Moderator | Teresa Palacios-Smith, Chief Diversity Officer, HSF Berkshire Hathaway Home Services
  • Tracey Baldwin, Senior Vice President - Luxury Lifestyle, The Wall Street Journal

The Scaling Game: Taking Latino Businesses and Wealth to the Next Level
Self-employed Latinos have a median net worth five times that of Latinos overall. Even further, self-employed Latinos with business equity (such as those who have business assets) have a net worth almost nine times the wealth of Latinos overall. While Latinos are driving entrepreneurial growth, Latino small businesses tend to start small and stay small. A panel of experts will discuss the untapped potential of building wealth through entrepreneurship and strategies for scaling Latino small businesses.
