On September 10th, the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals launched the 2017 National Convention & Latin Music Festival. Every year in celebration of our marquee event, we travel to a new market and meet thousands of our members face-to-face. This year NAHREP traveled to Dallas, TX where the BBQ around every corner is rich and the arts are even richer. The convention exuded education and dedication from industry executives and speakers who shared their stories and expertise with 2,500 registrants.
We are blessed with an organization of actively involved members and partners. The national convention would not have been a huge hit without the support of our chapter presidents who volunteer countless hours in order to ensure the strength of their local chapters; corporate partners who dedicate time, money and energy into the organization both locally and nationally; National Board of Directors (NBOD) who work day after day to propel the NAHREP mission within their own lives; Corporate Board of Governors (CBOG) who provide sound advice and support to our leadership, and most importantly, our members who make NAHREP the powerhouse that it is today.
Congratulations to all of our chapters for winning the most national convention registrants in their category! We truly appreciate your efforts and enthusiasm in making this one of our best events yet.

Along with educational seminars and industry updates NAHREP expanded our familia with some very important keynote speakers. Gaby Natale is an entrepreneur, journalist and 3-Time Emmy Award Winning television host and Executive Producer of SuperLatina. Natale keynoted the Latina Entrepreneur Brunch on September 10th, sharing her story about the power of “suiting up and showing up” for every opportunity. September 11th also proved to be a powerful day for national convention attendees. Keynoting our Opening General Session was the 43rd President of the United States, President George W. Bush, on the 16th anniversary of the attack on 9/11. Gary Acosta, Co-Founder & CEO of NAHREP, sat down with President Bush in a fireside chat about defining moments in his presidency, family, current involvement in politics, and policy. The Keynote Luncheon shortly followed, where Vanguard Award Recipient Earl J. Watson, Head coach of the Phoenix Suns, engaged the audience with a story of barriers far and wide that he transcended through dreams of basketball and a loving familia. As the second youngest head coach in the NBA and the first NBA coach of Hispanic descent, perhaps his most impressive feats can be found in the time he commits to community outreach and youth development. ¡Bienvenido a la familia!
