Danny Hastings Named 2022-23 NAHREP Artist-in-Residence, Brings Emotive and Compelling Storytelling
14 December 2021, San Diego – The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) announces the appointment of Danny Hastings as Artist-in-Residence for 2022-23.
A creative dynamo, Hastings has designed over 150 album covers and directed over 40 music videos working alongside artists as diverse as P. Diddy, Taylor Momsen, Marc Anthony, Jodeci, Wu-Tang Clan, Eminem, KRS-One, Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest and Jeru the Damaja. Hastings brings to NAHREP the creative and artistic spark that moves us closer to becoming a media and content leader. His most recent project for NAHREP was developing a short film about sustainable Hispanic homeownership which has received critical acclaim and widespread visibility.
“Joining NAHREP is a great venture and partnership because to me it symbolizes the harmonic union between our creative and business communities – the right and left sides of the brain working together. The partnership unites two communities driving the potential that comes from owning our media space,” said Danny Hastings.
“Anyone that is not exploring creative mediums to disseminate information will be obsolete quickly. Danny Hastings’ body of work reflects creativity, innovation and Latino-American culture. He brings to life emotive and compelling storytelling. We are thrilled to be working with Danny and his team,” said Gary Acosta, NAHREP Co-Founder & CEO.
Hastings has also made an impact in the advertising industry via storytelling by directing and producing branded content for companies like NASCAR, Sprint, Colgate, Unilever, Samsung, MTV, DraftKings, Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola, DIAGEO, VIACOM and PEPSI. In 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic Hastings directed and co-produced a critically acclaimed LinkedIn miniseries called The Reshuffle, where he explores the reshuffling of businesses in America as they navigate a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic. This production was spearheaded by a creative agency WHTWRKS INC, where he holds the position of Executive Producer and Creative Director.
In 2015, Hastings founded the annual Official Latino Film Festival to provide opportunities to Latinx filmmakers and actors in the U.S. due to the lack of representation of his community in film and TV. He successfully secured partnerships with HBO, YAHOO, NAHREP, Verizon Media and DIAGEO for the festival. The festival has been instrumental in placing over 15 short films from the Latinx community on HBO MAX.
