NAHREP Texas Plano/Garland celebrates second annual business rally

The NAHREP Texas Plano/Garland Wealth & Real Estate Business Rally 2nd Edition on July 11th was an incredible way to celebrate the chapter’s two-year anniversary! The business rally included breakout sessions hosted by great panelists and guest speakers, such as “NAHREP 10 Principles,” “Affordable Housing and Down Payment Assistance Access,” and “Wealth Building with Diego Corzo: REALTOR®️/Entrepreneur/DACA Dreamer.” The day was rounded out with entertainment from The Roders. This event brought in over 110 attendees, way to go!

The NAHREP Greater Sacramento Business Rally “3 Key Success Strategies: Time Management, Delegation, and Balance” on July 11th drew in over 60 attendees! Suneet Agarwal of Big Block Realty and Lab Coat Agents gave a powerful keynote speech that inspired attendees on how to improve their personal success strategies. The event also featured speakers CEO of MetroList Services, INC Bill Miller, Director of Government and Industry Relations at Freddie Mac Anthony Hutchinson, and County of Sacramento Tax Assessor Christina Wynn.

Bank of America’s new options address needs of Hispanic prospective homeowners, growing market

Bank of America’s recent Community Homeownership Commitment™, first introduced in April, has received positive feedback for its impact on first-time homebuyers, an audience which is increasingly comprised of Latinx consumers.
“More than 60% of U.S. Hispanics are millennials or younger, meaning they are just now aging into financial services experiences and major purchases such as homeownership,” explained 2019 NAHREP President David Acosta. Home purchases in the last decade have reflected this demographic shift, with Latinxs accounting for 63% of net U.S. homeownership growth between 2008 and 2018.

I spent all of last week in Washington D.C. for my own version of “Capitol Hill Visits.” In the span of three days I met with 12 different offices, all members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. It was cold in D.C. for this chica! I’ve now gotten used to living in sunny San Diego, but I do have to say I miss the fall. Why can’t San Diego have fall leaves? Can we import those and keep the sun?

I was in middle school when Prop 187 passed in California. I vividly recall being in P.E. class in my smelly gym clothes overhearing a group of teachers discussing what the proposition meant for the school and for its students, a majority of which were Latino. I remember watching a group of girls roll their eyes at the demonstration a group of Latino students had organized to protest the proposition.
