The Hispanic Wealth Project Symposium took place May 23, 2017 bringing together stakeholders from across the housing industry to discuss solutions and share commitments to achieve the project’s overall goal of tripling median Hispanic household wealth by 2024.
The second annual Hispanic Wealth Project Symposium will take place in La Jolla, CA on May 23, 2017. The HWP Symposium brings together stakeholders and national leaders for the purpose of developing action-based strategies to fulfill the organizations mission to empower the Hispanic community through sustainable homeownership, small business development and education.
NAHREP hit Washington D.C. March 27-29 for the annual Housing Policy & Hispanic Lending Conference where driven industry professionals, top government officials, and high ranking housing and real estate executives take part in three days of education, insight, and advocacy.
In partnership with the Hispanic Wealth Project, NAHREP released the 2016 State of Hispanic Homeownership Report on March 28, 2017. The seventh edition focuses on the household formation rates and the consequent homeownership growth of Hispanics as well as their related educational achievements, entrepreneurial undertakings, labor force profile, and consumer purchasing power in the country.
The NAHREP Chapter Program is in a period of rapid expansion with record breaking attendance, new member registrations and new market launches happening across the country. In the month of April alone, NAHREP Chapters hosted 33 events, with 2,728 attendees and 527 new and renewing members. This impressive accomplishment is due to the endless hard work and passionate dedication of our chapter leaders.

In early February, NAHREP announced that for the second year in a row, Hispanics were the only ethnic demographic with an increase to their homeownership rate. Hispanics have broken from the national trend of declining homeownership due to their high workforce participation and the fervent desire to own a home.
